The Erens Ekprikpo Health Foundation (EEHF) joined forces with the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), Rivers State University chapter, to organize a free medical outreach for university technologists during their 2-day Workshop and Safety Training held on June 10th and 11th, 2024.
The outreach program proved to be a resounding success, with over 500 beneficiaries from the Rivers State University (RSU) tech community taking advantage of the free medical services.
The comprehensive program offered a variety of health screenings and services, including:
- Informative health talks delivered by Sct. Ekprikpo Erens Spiff, President of EEHF, focusing on cancer awareness, general health, and lifestyle modifications.
- Free malaria testing and distribution of antimalarial drugs, in line with the goals of the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations (UN), and the End Malaria Partnership.
- Blood pressure checks.
- Blood sugar tests.
- HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C screenings.
- Body Mass Index (BMI) checks.
The impactful outreach program was made possible through the valuable support of the Rivers University Health Services department. This collaboration between EEHF, NAAT, and RSU health services demonstrates the positive outcomes achievable when organizations work together to address the well-being of a community.
We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Andoni LGA under Chairman Awortu's leadership in making a positive impact on the health and well-being of our community.
